This August I met up with Katie and Colin for a milestone couple session along the pebbled shores of Lake Brainard. The first time I talked on the phone with Katie and Colin, I was living in Virginia and they were Colorado locals planning a wedding on the East Coast. At the time I gushed over the thought of living near the Rockies and wanted to hear all about their skiing and backpacking adventures. I never would have imagined that the next time we met (in person now), I would be living in Denver.

When Katie reached out about taking couple photos, I was ecstatic. You know I’m drawn to a lake no matter what state or what time of year. Brainard Lake is located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Continental Divide. I’m slowly collecting a new list of favorite locations and Lake Brainard for a Colorado engagement session is absolutely on the top.
