Despite the rain, Emma and Justin’s wedding at Riverview Manor in Hurt Virginia was stunning. These two were kind, laid back, and an absolute joy the whole day. It was such a joy to walk with them through their wedding and come out of the other side with new friends.
Emma and Justin met at Liberty University and belonged to brother-sister dorms. After three years of sharing a friend group and cultivating a trusting, close friendship, Justin asked her out. The rest is history! Their wedding day weather was such a contrast to Emma and Justin’s engagement session during the middle of winter.
Emma and Justin’s July wedding began with blue skies. We had so much fun hanging out with the bridal party as we prepared for the ceremony ahead. After looking at the looming radar with storms in the forecast, the wise decision was made to move their ceremony up 15 minutes. Emma and Justin didn’t share a first look, so the walk down the aisle was precious. The two decided to display their commitment to each other and the mirror servant heart of Jesus by washing each others feet. Emma’s maid of honor and her brother sang a beautiful worship song making for an unforgettable moment.
Just as the two recessed down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Holdstock, the skies gave way. Guests reached for available umbrellas and hurried under the protection of nearby buildings. Thanks to the rain letting up at just the right moment, and an adventurous trusting bridal party, we were able to take all the portraits with the beautiful rolling hills of Riverview Manor.
